By now you have heard or seen or read about "The Secret" which swept the country by storm last year. It was the talk of the town and everyone clammored to find out what "the secret" was. Law of Attraction carried the day in every conversation. This is not about that.
This is about something much more powerful than "the secret"...this is about our secrets, the ones we carry locked inside of our heart, known only to ourselves.
Harboring a secret can be harmful to your wellbeing, your growth and your life! Have you ever seen an accident that caused the entire traffic pattern to be rerouted? Delays, detours, backups, lost time, injury, tickets, you name it. Keeping a secret within you is similar to that. Your mind and your brain is working overtime and rerouting you and creating whole new layers of activity, identity and struggle designed to protect this almighty secret. Life is waylayed in the meantime and you have made your self out to be someone completely different than who you really are or it has altered your life in so many ways. You get entrenched so deep in it, that it's hard to use your courage and release it. I know from personal experience it gets harder and harder to pretend that all is well when something inside you is eating away at you. Although we feel we are doing a good job of hiding it, we are not. People around us sense that something is not right, even if they can not put their finger on exactly what that is.
We hold this thing (our secret) so close to us because we feel we could not bear to uncover it nor withstand the scrutiny or the judgement, or the shame that would accompany revealing it. We have kept the secret so long that we have programmed a new pathway of action, of thinking to accomodate it. Life is too short to let something have a grip over you like that. You must find someone that you can tell your secret to so you can finally be free.
Think about that for a minute. What would life look like and feel like if you no longer had your secret? How clear would your conscience be? How light would your heart feel? How much brain space or "thinking" would you be able to free up if you no longer had it? What else would you do if you no longer had to think about or worry about that? How different could your life be? What has your secret held you back from doing for all of your life? You are strong. You have courage...free yourself!
Know someone who's doing something you don't quite understand? A secret may be the reason. Is there a whole in your life or a missing piece of the puzzle for you? A secret is at the bottom of it. Do you know someone who is sad or depressed always? They have a secret. And it is draining their life away from them.
You can not afford to keep secrets. It prevents you from being authentic, true and genuine and it holds you hostage in your life, always thinking about it, always protecting it, and always carrying it.
Starting today, you can no longer keep your secret. You can no longer be robbed by it or cowered by it. Tell the truth about it. ONLY the truth can set you free. Once you can share your whole truth you are free indeed and then you can live life with liberty and with ease and grace. You can stop overcompensating for the secret and go on to carry out the mission that you were born for.
Set yourself free. Break its power over your life. Tell someone or give it over fully over to God. If you have no one to tell, I am here. email me at sharmaine@comcast.net and I will help you break free! |
