I've always felt that I knew "everything begins with a thought".  But the other night while dreaming I got a deeper revelation of this.  I could not stop thinking about the simplicity of it.  Yet no matter how simplistic it is, we still don't heed this true life principle.  Every result or creation first begins with a thought!  So whatever you have in your life right now...began with your thoughts!  Me too!  If we really understood the power of our own thoughts, we would stop feeling like something has been "done" to us or something happened to us...we are merely a victim of our thoughts.

Whether it is a thought about our destiny or thoughts that haunt us from our past, a thought about having more than enough or a thought about low self esteem, it begins with a thought!  And we can control what we think about.  We don't have to focus on or dwell on whatever decides to pop into our brains.  We are in control of that.

This was God's gentle reminder to keep my thoughts (and thus my words and my actions) focused on him and His will for me.  And to take notice of when my mind is focused on the wrong thing.  We are to "police" our thoughts.

I decided to take out a pad on a plane ride home and make a list of all of the things that were on my mind for the past couple of weeks.  Over 60 negative thoughts were on "repeat" in my brain.  This revelation startled me and I could see how much they "weighed me down" in my day to day life, sometimes unbeknown to me.  They create negative energy, they drain away  the energy that you need to accomplish your daily activies and that you need to create a meaningful life for ourselves.

It was quite an awareness on a deeper level and I realize I have to reprogram my thinking to think accurately and keep my thoughts on what I want and not on what I don't want!

Everything new and good and all the changes that we want to make in our lives begin with a thought FIRST!  Whether it is turning your life around, taking charge of your life, responsibility for yourself, losing weight, meeting your soul mate  or creating more money than you need...it all begins with a thought!
